instalar LINUX MINT 9 desde windows usando mint4win , sin cd , usb o floppy

hola a todos los amigos minteros, en esta ocasion les traigo un how-to paso a paso y en detalle lo mas posible, acerca de como instalar mi queridisimo MINT 9 ISADORA desde windows y con ayuda del programa MINT4WIN.
mediante este metodo MINT quedara instalado como si fuera un programa mas de windows, no hay modificacion a las particiones ni al mbr (arranque)

1.- DESCARGA:

nos descargamos la iso de MINT 9 que queramos, para este how-to escogi la mejor de todas, que es la version DVD.
solo descarguen de esta pagina:

http://www.linuxmint.com/download.php

si descargan de otro lado corren el riesgo de adquirir un "premio" incluido en la descarga o que la iso sea defectuosa.

2.- MONTAR LA ISO:

ahora lo que debemos hacer, es montar la iso descargada, para eso existen 2 utilidades gratuitas que les recomiendo:
para windows xp y anteriores: " VIRTUAL CLONE DRIVE " que recomiendo solo descargar de la pagina oficial:

para windows vista y posteriores recomiendo: " DAEMON TOOLS LITE " el cual recomiendo descargar solo de la pagina oficial:

http://www.daemon-tools.cc/eng/downloads

o tambien si disponemos ya de alguna otra herramienta como la de nero, etc. pues usemos la que tengamos y nos funcione.

3.- INSTALACION:

una vez montada nuestra iso, la abrimos con el explorador y buscamos el archivo mint4win.exe y le damos doble click para ejecutarlo:



en las opciones disponibles tenemos:

UNIDAD DE INSTALACION: aqui escogeremos en cual particion de windows instalamos MINT

IDIOMA: obvio

TAMAÑO DE INSTALACION: por defecto nos asigna 12 gb, pero si estas falto de espacio puedes disminuir el tamaño hasta 3 gb, pero de una vez aclaro, a mayor espacio, mas fluido ira MINT ( yo recomiendo como minimo 12gb y 20gb para el mejor desempeño)

USUARIO: aqui le ponemos el nombre que queramos a nuestro usuario

ENTORNO DE ESCRITORIO: esto lo dejamos como esta

CONTRASEÑA: hay que asignar una contraseña a nuestra cuenta (recomendado minimo 6 caracteres variando entre numeros, letras y especiales)

una vez que estemos listos le damos a instalar y ahora si, a disfrutar de el mejor sistema linux: MINT 9

Estas cosas parece que no pero hay PCs que no traen ningún medio externo... Tengo un amigo con una comedura enorme de tarro para instalar DMS que no veas...

Si . Si sirve, yo lo realizé de esa forma, igual , si no te anda, buscas el USB en tu "Mi Pc" y apenas abras la unidad busca el nombre llamado <"Wubi"> y listo.

¿Funciona para instalarlo en un pendrive?

no creo, porque el mint4win deberia solo reconocer particiones ntfs, y un pendrive formateado con ese sistema de ficheros pues no se si se ejecute a una velocidad decente.
de hecho, el ultimo ubuntu ( lucid) que es comparable solo con windows 7, corre de maravilla en pendrive con puerto 2.0.
por el contrario, windows 7, ni siquiera pensar en ejecutarlo desde usb, porque el xp que es inferior corre lento en el mismo pendrive y puerto 2.0

El windows que viene con el hirens boot cd desde usb corre bastante bien y es rapido para arrancar, lo unico es que viene en ingles.

 pues es una ........ cagada diria yo, ni siquiera trae el explorador "normal" de windows xp, y ademas viene muuuuuuuy recortado en funciones con respecto de la version normal.
es mas, fue creado con el solo proposito de usarlo a modo de herramienta para hacer reparaciones, etc.
a diferencia de linux, que hasta una version completisima como LINUX MINT 9 DVD  funciona de lujo y bien, sin quitarle nada.

cierto mint 777 pero con barthpe se puede hacer un windows a medida, pero bueno tambien se puede hacer en linux y es mas factible hacerlo para linux siempre funcionara mejor, la compilacion que mas me gusta para esto es slax
